Why should I join Turtle Rock Elementary Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)?

Becoming a PTA member makes a positive impact for your child(ren) as well as all students at Turtle Rock Elementary. PTA Members stay connected with our school, other parents, the local community, and can vote on key items like budgets, school activities, and for PTA board members. There are also special discounts and membership perks for all PTA members. 

Why should I donate to Turtle Rock Elementary PTA in addition to joining the PTA?

Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) is one of the highest performing school districts in California and nationwide, but the district has significant gaps in both federal and state per student funding due to the state's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Turtle Rock Elementary School PTA works to fill these funding gaps by fundraising throughout the school year. Your donation directly impacts students at Turtle Rock Elementary and fund classroom supplies, assemblies, science labs, PE programs, and family events. What is the suggested donation amount per student?

The requested donation amount is $250 per student. The PTA recognizes that this amount is not feasible for everyone, so we encourage families to donate whatever amount they are comfortable with (no donation amount is too small). The cost to fund school materials, activities, and programs has increased significantly in recent years so we appreciate any support that families can provide.  

Are PTA membership fees and donations tax deductible?

Yes, Turtle Rock Elementary PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and your donation is tax deductible. Please contact your tax advisor for more information. Turtle Rock Elementary PTA Tax ID is 23-7160349.

Do PTA membership fees and donations qualify for Corporate Donation Match programs?

Yes, Turtle Rock Elementary PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and qualifies for Corporate Donation Match programs. Please contact your company's Human Resources department for instructions on submitting a corporate donation match request. Turtle Rock Elementary PTA Tax ID is 23-7160349.

Do I need to join the PTA every year or if I transfer schools during the current year?

PTA memberships are only valid for the current school year and are specific to each school. If you joined the PTA in prior years or joined at a different school during the current school year (i.e. school transfer), please consider joining again.

Does my PTA membership cover just me or everyone in my family?

The $25 PTA membership fee is for one adult per household and is assigned to the registered account owner. Although not required, we encourage each adult in your family to join the PTA and purchase their own membership (i.e. one membership for parent 1 and a second membership for parent 2/adult family member).  

I have multiple children at Turtle Rock Elementary. Do I need to purchase multiple PTA memberships (one for each child) so that they are all counted in their class competitions? 

No, when you purchase one PTA membership, all the children in your family get credit for the PTA membership drive class competitions. Additionally, each child in your family will receive the same prizes with one PTA membership. Please make sure your children's information is updated in your account (grade and teacher name). 

When will my child receive the membership prizes?

All children in your family will receive the same prizes for one PTA membership. Membership prizes will be distributed to classrooms before Thanksgiving break.
